IMPORTING YOUR OLD GLOSSARY TO LOOKUP

Each line in your old glossary must contain 3 elements delimited by a vertical line. The first element is a unique identifier, an integer. The second element is the English term. The third element is the Spanish term.

Your glossary should look like this:

If you have used tabs or a colon as a delimiter in your old glossary to separate English from Spanish terms, LOOKUP can do the formatting for you.

Follow these 4 simple steps to convert your old glossary into a format that LOOKUP can import:

1) Save a copy of your old glossary as oldglossary.txt using the UTF-8 encoding. Save it in the same directory as LOOKUP.

2) If your glossary terms are delimited by tabs, open LOOKUP and type !tabs.

If your glossary terms are delimited by a colon, type !colon.

If your glossary terms are delimited by a different character, replace it by a vertical line and then type !number.

3) Your formatted glossary will be saved as glossary.txt in the same directory as LOOKUP. Open glossary.txt and check that there are no formatting errors.

4) Use the IMPORT button in LOOKUP to load your glossary.
